WEATHER UPDATE (4:30PM): One wave of rain has come through, and one more smaller one is expected, but that should be it. So, the walk is still on. Look for Tweets from @vanhoosear.

It's summertime, and that means it's time for our next outdoor event. Weather permitting, we'll meet at the main entrance to the Arnold Arboretum, off of Rte. 203 (technically Monsignor William J. Casey Highway, at that point, but most people call it Jamaicaway), in Jamaica Plain at 6pm on Thursday, August 20th (see the photo below).

At 6:15, we'll depart and start exploring the Arboretum. I'll tweet updates of our location at @vanhoosear if you're late and want to connect up.

Don't worry about bringing a snack for the walk: Thanks to our sponsor @MsGreen, we'll be well-stocked with M&Ms, Snickers, Milky Way, Twix, Dove and 3 Musketeers bars.

From the Arboretum, we'll walk along Jamaicaway to Jamaica Pond, and from there, to Centre Street in JP and the Alchemist for a few drinks (you're on your own for those) and snacks (not just candy) courtesy of our sponsor (we should be there by 8pm or so).

This is approximately a three mile walk, so bring comfortable shoes, your camera, and whatever advice you can give to budding photographers. 

If the weather is lousy, we'll abort the walk and head straight to the Alchemist.
